On 11 October, the Baltic programme held an in-person event themed ‘The security balance in the Baltic’. Rt. Hon. Charles Clarke invited Edward Lucas and Sir Stuart Peach to discuss security issues that were highlighted in the report Close to the Wind: Recommendations for Baltic Sea Regional Security, written by Edward Lucas, Ben Hodges and Carsten Schmiedl for the Centre for European Policy Analysis (CEPA). The event was followed by a lively Q and A session on different aspects of Baltic geopolitics, including the challenges for the region arising out of the Russo-Ukrainian war.
