The Baltic Programme at the Centre for Geopolitics, University of Cambridge is pleased to announce the call for applications for the Baltic Geopolitics Network Publication Prize 2024 in two categories of publications. The prize of £1000 will be awarded for an outstanding book, and the prize of £500 for an outstanding article in a peerreviewed academic journal, on the subject of geopolitics of the Baltic Sea region, broadly conceived. The Prize aims to encourage Baltic geopolitics research and to foster connections between scholars in the field.

Who can apply?

• Authors (or author collectives of no more than 3 persons) of works that were published no earlier than 2021

• Language of publication: English, or an official English language edition

• Researchers in the fields of history, politics, international relations, international law and sociology are particularly encouraged to apply

Application process

A full electronic copy/scan of the publication should be sent to Dr. Donatas Kupčiūnas at dk658@cam.ac.uk, with ‘BGN Publication Prize 2024 submission’ in the subject line, no later than 18 February, 2024. Applications should include: full name(s) of author(s), affiliation and contact details

Selection process

The winner will be chosen by the Baltic Geopolitics Network panel from the University of Cambridge and partner universities in the Baltic Sea region. The panel reserves the right not to award the prize(s) in case of low number of applications.

Applicants will be informed by 18 March, 2024. The Prize will be awarded at the Baltic Geopolitics Network Symposium, University of Cambridge, 4 April 2024.
