Tobias Billström, the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, will be speaking about Sweden’s successful application for full NATO membership and recent accession last month, becoming the alliance’s 32nd member. He has served in his present role since October 2022, and has been a member of the Swedish Riksdag (Parliament) since 2002. Mr Billström read for his MPhil in History at Selwyn, matriculating in 2001.

The event will be chaired by Roger Mosey, the master of Selwyn College. We will be inviting questions from the audience both online and in-person.

Entry to this event is by ticket only. Please place a booking by registering via Eventbrite (see link on the right hand side).

The event takes place at the Quarry Whitehouse Auditorium, Selwyn College, Grange Road, CB3 9DQ. We kindly ask guests to enter through the Main Gate, by the Porters’ Lodge. The Auditorium will be signposted from there — but the Selwyn College Porters will be more than happy to help direct you if you have trouble finding the Auditorium.

Doors will open at 3:15pm. Please have your ticket ready as you enter as we will be scanning guests in at the Auditorium door. The event will start promptly at 3:30pm. We expect to finish by 4:15pm at the latest.

If you are arriving by bike, you may lock your bicycles on the railings by the Quarry Whitehouse Auditorium.

Please note that photographs will be taken during this event and the audience may be visible at certain points on the livestream.
