With Suzanne Raine, Affiliated Lecturer
Episode 4: Tear down this Wall! With Timothy Garton Ash
Suzanne Raine talks to Professor Timothy Garton Ash about resistance to the Iron Curtain and the scars it left behind.
Part of the Resistance, Radicalisation and Religion Series:
Suzanne Raine, Affiliate Lecturer, explores how resistance to authority has interacted with religious and political extremism. Following the deadly Capitol Riot in Washington D.C. this January, academics and counter-extremism experts will use current and historical examples to explore how extremist movements learn from each other, the role of belief – religious or otherwise – in motivating or enabling people to rebel and resist, the impact of being on the 'losing side’, and how society might respond to radicalisation.
