Centre for Geopolitics

Providing historically-grounded solutions to enduring geopolitical problems

The Cambridge Initiative on Religion & International Studies (CIRIS) provides students, policymakers, and the general public with credible and engaging insights to shape new scholarship, sound policy, and constructive debate on the role of faith in global affairs. Currently, CIRIS serves as the Secretariat of the Transatlantic Policy Network on Religion and Diplomacy, manages the website Religion & Diplomacy, runs a project on Protestant Political Thought, and regularly hosts reading groups, seminars, workshops, and public lectures on a wide range of religion-related topics at the University of Cambridge.

CIRIS joined the Centre for Geopolitics as one of its constituent research strands in early 2020 after being based at Clare College, Cambridge for five years.
