The Trustees of the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation and the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation have each awarded a grant to Dr. Kun-Chin Lin, who serves as a University Lecturer in Politics at the University of Cambridge and as the Acting Director of the Centre for Geopolitics. These grants will help finance the costs of the Centre for Geopolitics’s three-day academic conference entitled ‘Maritime Asia: The Secularization of the China Seas in the 19th-21st centuries.’

Dr. Kun-Chin Lin remarked ‘I would like to thank the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation and the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation for awarding me theseĀ grants. The grants will fund the costs of the Maritime Asia conference which will explore academic reflection on the key events in the China Seas over the last three centuries.’

The organisation of this conference at the University of Cambridge will take place on 11-13 August 2020, and will enable historians and political scientists to come together and build a common interdisciplinary understanding of Asian maritime affairs.
